Contract bridge convention

What is the actual purpose of gathering points. I play competitive Contract Bridge, which I dropped out of. It ceased to be enjoyable. Are there partners here? which I’m reading about. Now when I get 1000 point what then, there doesn’t seem to be a reason who cares how many points I earn, win. The questions are stupid and childish. I belong to 4 forums which I respond to questons, I lucky if someone says thank you, I don’t get points.

Here I get 2 points if I respond at all, correct or not , brief not complete, not even correct. I still havent figured out what is a good response. It really doesn’t seem to matter. I haven’t a clue why I’m here. Hoyakins
