Is it possible to offer a brief explanation of the "Two over one game force" bidding style in contract bridge? I’m a good novice but the people I aspire to play partner with all seem to be using "2/1."

Books on the subject that have helped you would also be appreciated.

I’m a 22 year old male living in America and I’ve noticed that my generation (generation Y) is less inclined to play card games inlvolving a higher level of brain usage (contract bridge in particular). Is it television? shorter attention spans? not being passed down? not "cool". I am yet to find a group my age willing to play bridge on a routine basis (nothing against playing with the baby boomers!)
